As a member of the Main Library Alliance, a network of 49 New Jersey libraries, patrons have access to the collections of all those libraries through the the Main app or the online Public Access Catalog (PAC). Materials requested from any participating library will be delivered to Mountain Lakes through Main’s interlibrary loan system.
Both the app and the PAC allow you to manage your account conveniently from your phone, tablet, or computer. You can search the catalog, place requests and holds, renew materials, and view all items borrowed on your card. You can also download audiobooks, e-books, and magazines, as well as access a wide variety of online educational databases.
If the title you need isn’t available in Morris County, we can help you search for it throughout New Jersey using JerseyCat, a free statewide interlibrary loan program that includes both public and university libraries. If it’s not available in state, JerseyCat allows request from out-of-state libraries through the Online Computer Library Center; however, shipping fees may apply.
The Mountain Lakes Library also participates in “Open Borrowing,” a reciprocal program that allows patrons in good standing to borrow in-person from among more than 75 public libraries in northern New Jersey. Participating libraries include LMxAC (Libraries Of Middlesex Automation Consortium), Main Library Alliance, PALS (Passaic Library System), and SWELL (Sussex Warren Electronic Lending Libraries).
